Marcus Stroman hosts local community groups at Wrigley Field
Marcus Stroman’s HDMH Foundation hosted members from two local community youth groups, Lost Boyz and Boys & Girls Club, before Tuesday night’s game against the Mariners at Wrigley Field.
Stroman met with the group before the game to chat, answer questions, sign T-shirts, take photos and play catch.
“One of my main goals always was to be a role model and someone that young kids — especially kids from the inner city, kids that look like me — to look up to,” Stroman said. “To finally be in that position and role and to give back, it warms my heart more than anything.”
Stroman’s HDMH Foundation seeks to inspire and empower children and young people to pursue their dreams. Stroman and his foundation plan to host youth at more games during the regular season and expand his efforts in the Chicago community.
“My goal at this point is to grow my foundation and continue to give back to the inner-city youth,” Stroman said. “To see kids wearing my jersey, to see them with my book in hand, it gives me all the feels in the world. Just to be in this position, it truly means the world to me.”
