Brewers Hall of Fame broadcaster, icon Bob Uecker dies at age 90
Brewers legend and broadcaster Bob Uecker passed away on Thursday, the team announced. Uecker was 90 years old, and the MLB community immediately shared their stories, memories and impact that ‘Mr. Baseball’ had on them during his time in the MLB.
“Ueck” was the commentator for the Brewers for 54 years after playing in the majors from 1962 to 1967. He won a World Series ring as a member of the 1964 Cardinals and earned a spot in Cooperstown as a member of the 2003 MLB Hall of Fame Class after winning the Ford C. Frick Award.
The Chicago Cubs showcased their appreciation for the commentator whenever Milwaukee came down to play at the Friendly Confines.
Cubs fans as well showered love on the commentator, sharing that regardless of allegiance, he was someone everyone in baseball loved.
