2 weeks agoMaya Tucker

Cubs broadcasting legend Pat Hughes was inducted into the Cactus League Hall of Fame on Sunday.

During his speech, he discussed working with other broadcasting greats, his appreciation of the Cactus League, and even shared one more thing he wants to see with Cubs fans.

“Personally, I would love at least one more chance to say those words, ‘The Chicago Cubs win the World Series!’”

Pat Hughes also shared his gratitude to the Cactus League and shared memories of calling games with his former partners in broadcasting in Ron Santo, Harry Caray, and Bob Uecker.

2025 marks Pat Hughes’ 29th season as the Cubs play-by-play announcer. This honor adds to a list of other awards and inductions for the radio commentator, including the Ford C. Frick award and was inducted into MLB Hall of Fame in 2023.
