Which sports league will start a franchise in Las Vegas next?
Legendary sports broadcaster Brent Musburger joined Len Kasper and host Cole Wright on Cubs 360 Daily to discuss which pro sports league will start the next franchise out in Las Vegas.
Las Vegas, Nev. is home to two professional sports teams: the Las Vegas Golden Knights and the Las Vegas Raiders. With two franchises already in place in Sin City, Musburger weighed his opinion on whether the MLB or NBA will start a franchise out in Las Vegas.
“The NBA should be ashamed of itself. They should have been the first league into Las Vegas. They blew it when they brought an All-Star game here,” Musburger said. “The players were great, the people loved the players and the game was fine. But the entourages that showed up caused a lot of trouble and turned the city against them.”
Musburger went on to describe how American businessman Bill Foley, saw an opportunity to bring an NHL franchise to Las Vegas.
“It wasn’t a hockey town, but he took the Golden Knights in, they embraced the community, the community embraced them back and that became the stepping stone. Then, Mark Davis was able to get permission from the NFL to move the Raiders in.”
Musburger believes if baseball does come to Las Vegas, there needs to be a second dome stadium with the extreme temperatures that happen in July through September.
