1. Mount Carmel 3-0 (1)

One of the state’s best and oldest rivalry games is played Friday night.

2. Lincoln Way East 3-0 (2)

The Griffins have been rolling behind QB Braden Tischer, but never take Bradley for granted.

3. Loyola Academy 3-0 (3)

The Ramblers get a big game from junior QB Ryan Fitzgerald and Loyola defense remains as nasty as ever.

4. York 3-0 (4)

The Dukes sure look like a team ready to make a ton of noise this season.

5. Batavia 2-1 (5)

QB Ryan Boe Player of the Year candidate? Already? Yes.

6. Kankakee 3-0 (6)

Kankakee has a major game breaker in senior RB Tony Phillips this season.

7. St Rita 3-0 (7)

QB Jett Hilding is truly a dual threat running the Mustangs offense this season.

8. Maine South 2-1 (9)

The Hawks continue to get a great performance this season from junior QB Constantine Coines.

9. Prairie Ridge 3-0 (10)

The Wolves will get a big test Friday hosting undefeated Huntley.

10. Hersey 3-0 (12)

The Huskies offense has been impressive led by junior QB Colton Gumino this season.

11. Brother Rice 2-1 (15)

The Crusaders will need a big game from its defense this Saturday led by junior ILB Christian Pierce.

12. Lockport 3-0 (17)

The Porters are just finishing ways to finish games and win each week in a very similar fashion to the 2021 season.

13. Palatine 2-1 (11)

The Pirates will need a bounce back win this week after a tough loss last Friday to Maine South.

14. Barrington 3-0 (18)

Barrington head coach Joe Sanchez is now the all time winningest coach in the Mid Suburban Conference.

15. Geneva 3-0 (20)

The Vikings have a bona fide Power 5 receiver in junior Talyn Taylor and enough talent to make a deep run this season.

16. Wheaton North 2-1 (NR)

The Falcons QB Max Howser plays big in big games.

17. Downers Grove North 3-0 (NR)

The Trojans also have an up and coming underclassmen to watch in sophomore QB Owen Lansu.

18. IC Catholic Prep 3-0 (22)

Despite Nazareth Academy’s 0-3 record, I still fully expect this game Friday night at Plunkett Park in Elmhurst to be a dandy.

19. Lake Zurich 3-0 (23)

Da Bears came out of the gates slow last Friday against Stevenson but finished strong for the win.

20. Marist 1-2 (14)

The Redhawks look to get back on track this week and will rely on QB Owen Winters to lead the Redhawks offensive attack.

21. Joliet Catholic 2-1 (19)

The Hilltoppers played like world beaters for three quarters in last Friday’s 20-10 loss to St Rita, but that last quarter was a doozy.

22, Morgan Park 2-1 (21)

The Mustangs have one of the state’s best all around players and athletes in senior RB/DB Tysean Griffin (Illinois).

23. Lyons Township 2-1 (24)

The Lions look to be back on track after a Week 1 loss to Prospect.

24. Oswego 3-0 (25)

This is more like the Oswego football we’ve all come to know over the many years and not the 3-6 2022 version.

25. St. Charles North 2-1 (8)

The road just get tougher for the North Stars who host 7A state power and Dukane rival Batavia Friday night.

26. Prospect 2-1 (26)

The Knights and head coach Dan DeBoeuf continue to build this program into a consistent winner.

27. Providence Catholic 2-1 (28)

The Celtics will rely heavily this season on its defense while the offense continues to gain experience and confidence.

28. Naperville North 2-1 (29)

The Huskies survive a strong non conference schedule and start off DVC play with a bang in Neuqua Valley.

29. Carmel 3-0 (30)

The Corsairs have an abundance of talent this season led by senior QB Johnny Weber (SEMO).

30. Lincoln Way Central 3-0 (NR)

The Knights and first year head coach Dave Woodburn grinded out an impressive 27-10 win on Saturday over O’Fallon at Illinois State.
