Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo joined Len Kasper and Jim Deshaies on Cubs 360 Summer Camp to look a little bit more in depth at the 2020 schedule. Although the season will be challenging, the veteran leader remains optimistic.

“It will be fun though, I think, to be able to capture a new fanbase, too, during this,” Rizzo said. “60 games. Everything is going to mean something. You’re in a pennant chase right out the chute.”

Rizzo is taking as many health precautions as he can before the season starts on July 24 against the Brewers at Wrigley Field.

“One slip up could really setback a lot of guys on our team,” Rizzo said. “We’re seeing it around the league, which we knew was going to happen. We know it’s still going to happen, but we just want to be as safe as we can.”
