Jon Lester made his third spring start and tossed 61 pitches in 2.2 innings, striking out 6.
David Bote drove in his first run of the spring and minor-league infielder Alfonso Rivas added an RBI of his own for the North Siders.

Before the game, the Cubs also made a few cuts in big-league camp Friday, sending 11 players to the minor leagues. Of the guys on the 40-man roster, pitcher Tyson Miller and infielder/outfielder Robel García were optioned to Triple-A Iowa while pitchers Justin Steele and Manny Rodríguez were optioned to Double-A Tennessee.
The group also included seven non-roster invitees heading to minor-league camp: pitchers Jason Adam, Óscar De La Cruz, Caleb Simpson, Tyler Olson, C.D. Pelham and catcher Jhonny Pereda.
That brings the Cubs’ spring roster to 51 players, including 15 non-roster invitees.
