The pair exchanged lineups, hugged and embraced for a few seconds, with Willson wiping away tears. The Braves called up the younger Contreras on Thursday after placing backup catcher Manny Piña on the IL. That allowed both Contreras brothers to be active for the game.
Willson Contreras last season famously wore a Braves “Contreras” jersey during the World Series brother as his brother chased a World Series ring.
