Cubs fall to Reds in Las Vegas, 11-9
The Cubs dropped an offensive slugfest to the Reds 11-9 in the finale in Las Vegas. The Reds raced out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning, forcing Colin Rea out of the game after 0.2 innings of work. The Cubs rallied to take the lead in the third inning, off a two-run double from Ian Miller. Las Vegas native Kris Bryant drove in Miller with a double down the third base line.
The Reds rallied with a 5-run 7th inning to take the lead and the win. In the other split-squad game, the Cubs fell to the Diamondbacks 8-1. The Cubs play the Giants on Tuesday in Scottsdale, Ariz. with coverage beginning on Marquee Sports Network at 3 p.m.
