Cubs’ Cody Bellinger takes home another MLB award
The awards keep rolling in for Cody Bellinger.
After winning the NL Comeback Player of the Year, Bellinger took home the NL Louisville Silver Slugger for a utility player, which is given to someone who spent significant time at more than one position throughout the season. He was named the NL’s top offensive player who played multiple positions, which was voted on by MLB coaches and managers.
Bellinger saw extended time at center field and first base for the Cubs throughout the 2023 season and put up one of the top offensive seasons of his career. He batted .307 with 26 home runs and 97 RBI, all first on the team (his 26 home runs were tied for first with Christopher Morel).
