Cubs-Guardians start time pushed back due to weather
After a 2-hour, 45-minute rain delay Saturday evening, the league got out in front of things Sunday morning.
The Cubs and Guardians was already moved back to 4:05 p.m. and now that start time is delayed due to inclement weather.
Jameson Taillon will take the ball for the Cubs against Cleveland’s projected starter of Aaron Civale. Cubs Live! begins at 3 p.m. on Marquee Sports Network to preview the action.
The two teams already had a quick turnaround after Saturday night’s nationally televised game. But rain forced the original 6:15 p.m. start time all the way back to 9 p.m., creating a late night for all involved.
The Cubs won the opener of the series before the Guardians beat Marcus Stroman and Co. in Game 2.
The Cubs are aiming to avoid a second straight series loss. They’ll head to Milwaukee Monday for an all-important 4-game series against the NL Central-leading Brewers.
