Sammy Sosa will be at Cubs Convention. 

The team announced on Sunday morning that the former slugger will be at the annual fan fest. Sosa and the Cubs mended their strained relationship earlier this month, with the Dominican outfielder apologizing to the team and club chairman Tom Ricketts inviting him to Cubs Convention. 

“There were times I did whatever I could to recover from injuries in an effort to keep my strength up to perform over 162 games,” Sosa wrote in his apology. “I never broke any laws. But in hindsight, I made mistakes and I apologize.”

The restored relationship caused excitement among Cubs fans, who were seeing one of the team’s most successful players return to the club. 

Now, Cubs fans will have the chance to celebrate one of their favorites in person.
