Cubs-Rockies rained out, doubleheader set for Wednesday

3 years agoTony Andracki

The Cubs and Rockies were unable to play their Tuesday night contest at Wrigley Field thanks to an intense storm that rolled into the North Side of Chicago.

The two teams will instead meet for a doubleheader Wednesday with the first game starting at 1:20 p.m. First pitch of the second contest will begin at 5:30 p.m.

This is the Rockies’ only visit into town this season.

Justin Steele was slated to start Tuesday night and will get the ball for Game 2 Wednesday with Zach Davies starting the originally scheduled doubleheader opener.

The Cubs won the first game of the series Monday night in thrilling fashion as Rafael Ortega’s walk-off homer snapped a 13-game home losing streak.
