Cubs series opener against Dodgers postponed; will be made up Saturday as doubleheader

Friday’s series opener between the Cubs and the Dodgers was postponed due to inclement weather.
The game will be made up Saturday May 7 at 6:40 p.m. as part of a split doubleheader. Saturday’s game originally scheduled for 1:20 p.m. has been moved to a 12:05 p.m. start time. Coverage will begin on Marquee Sports Network at 11 a.m. with Cubs Live! Gates will open 90 minutes before first pitch for both games for fans.
The Cubs will start lefty Drew Smyly in game one of the doubleheader, with lefty Daniel Norris starting the nightcap of game two. Smyly was placed on the bereavement list on Tuesday. Norris has made 5 appearances this year, all out of the pen, posting a 1.00 WHIP in 6 innings of work this season.
Justin Steele was originally scheduled to start Saturday’s game. Sunday’s starter is to be determined.
