Cubs fall to Reds 8-5 in Las Vegas
Alec Mills continues to battle for a spot on the Cubs Opening Day roster and his performance on Saturday in Las Vegas against the Reds figures to help his chances. Mills struck out 3 in 3.2 innings in the Cubs’ 8-5 loss to the Reds at Las Vegas Ballpark in split squad action. The Cubs won their first game of the day, 8-5 over Cleveland in Goodyear, Ariz.
Nico Hoerner put the Cubs on the board with a 2-run triple that scored Anthony Rizzo and Ian Happ.
