Cubs top draft pick Cam Smith continues to make history in debut season
Cam Smith continues to make pro ball look like a cakewalk.
The 14th overall pick in last month’s MLB Draft homered for a 5th straight game with Class-A Myrtle Beach, setting a franchise record in the process.
Smith’s blast on Saturday was a no-doubt, solo homer to center field that traveled 432 feet and was hit 103-mph off his bat. It extended Myrtle Beach’s lead to 4 runs in a game they won 4-1 over Charleston.
