David Ross discusses the benefits of intrasquad scrimmages

4 years agoMatt Danielewicz

It’s been five days of summer camp and the Cubs have had three intrasquad scrimmages to prepare for the start of the 2020 season. Cubs manager David Ross shared the benefits of intrasquad scrimmages to Jim Deshaies and Len Kasper on Cubs 360 Summer Camp.

Ross has been impressed with the results his team has shown during these scrimmages.

“I thought early on it was going to be boring. I knew how far along the pitching staff was and down time. They’ve looked great. They got their numbers back and guys look really good from an analytical standpoint,” Ross said.

Ross shared praise to his hitters for the way they have approached their at-bats.

“For the time they had laid off and not being able to see live pitching and what we’ve been able to do in this short amount of time, I’ve been really impressed where the hitters are at and their approach,” Ross said. “It’s good. I’m really thankful and excited for their work and it’s been good so far.”
