Doug Glanville discusses impact of the LGBTQ+ community in the sports world on the latest edition of “Class is in Session”

2 years agoStaff Report

In recognition of Pride Month, this month’s Class is in Session presented by UI Health discusses the impact of the LGBTQ+ community in the sports world, and how sports can provide an opportunity to bring all people together under common rules and goals, furthering the ideals of on-field competition and working towards a more inclusive and accepting society off-the-field.

Premiering Tuesday, June 28, at 5:30 PM CT, this month’s episode hosted by Doug Glanville features two sports broadcasters who identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community:

  • Kate Scott – The play-by play voice of the Philadelphia 76ers, as well as long-time sports broadcaster
  • Nick McCarvel – Sports reporter and commentator who has covered the Olympics, with extensive work in figure skating and tennis.

Stay tuned tomorrow immediately following Class is in Session for Cubs Live!, previewing the Cubs-Reds game at 7 PM.
