On this month’s episode of the Chicago/Midwest Emmy Award-winning Class is in Session presented by UI Health, Doug Glanville explores the insider culture of sports media, exploring the relationship between journalists and beat writers with the players, teams and sports leagues they cover on a day-to-day basis.

Joining Glanville in class this month are two veteran baseball reporters with decades of experience both as beat writers and national media members:

  • Buster Olney (@Buster_ESPN) – Senior MLB writer and reporter at ESPN

Glanville, Olney and Ghiroli discuss how sports media has evolved over the years, how reporters are able to secure scoops and the unrelenting, 24/7 demands of the job.
