Ed Howard’s favorite MLB player growing up

4 years agoStaff Report

The 16th overall pick of the 2020 MLB Draft Ed Howard joined host Cole Wright on Cubs 360 Daily to mention who his favorite player was growing up.

Growing up in Chicago, Howard would watch both Cubs and White Sox games. When it comes to favorite players, he chose a fan favorite on the North Side.

“Back then, I used to watch the Cubs when I was younger. My favorite player, if you look on one of my Little League cards, was Derrek Lee. I used to watch him because that was my first position when I was seven. I started at first base and I played everywhere,” Howard said. “Derrek Lee was one of my guys that I watched growing up.”

Howard also chose former White Sox shortstop Alexei Ramírez as another favorite player that he watched growing up.
