Frank Schwindel’s family could not be more excited to be here
Frank Schwindel grew up about 30 miles from Yankee Stadium, so the Cubs’ trip to the Bronx this weekend was quite the homecoming for the slugger.
The Livingston, N.J., native had a huge number of friends and family in attendance for Friday night’s Cubs-Yankees game.
On the Marquee Sports Network broadcast, Elise Menaker caught up with Schwindel’s family that included his wife (Kat), his father (Frank) and his father-in-law (Frank). (That’s right, both his father and father-in-law are named Frank.)
“It’s been amazing,” Kat said. “It’s been unbelievable. Honestly, I can’t believe we’re here. It’s been awesome.”
Schwindel’s father, Frank, had a lot of really wholesome things to say about how hard the Cubs first baseman works and how happy everybody is that he’s finally getting an extended chance in the big leagues.
Then Menaker turned to Schwindel’s father-in-law, Frank, who promptly stole the show with some excited yelling.
“This is awesome!” Father-In-Law Frank said. “Yankee Stadium, my son-in-law. This is unbelievable. Ahhh!”
Menaker followed up with another question, which elicited a similar response from Father-In-Law Frank:
“This is awesome! Yankee Stadium! Let’s everybody be Frank for the day. Ahhh!!”
