Ian Happ shoots a 69 and still loses on the links
Cubs outfielder Ian Happ hit the links Mother’s Day weekend with fellow teammate Kyle Schwarber down in Arizona. They were joined by PGA golfer Joel Dahmen and others at the Mesa Country Club.
Happ shot a solid 69 on Friday, but still lost by 11 strokes to Dahmen, who shot an otherworldly 58, good enough for a new course record. Dahmen shot 12-under in the last 11 holes.
Oh, and Schwarber ended the day with a totally relatable 81. Good for sixth in the six-person group. But that’s just fine. Although No. 12 finished 12 strokes behind Happ, he did hit .341 on the diamond during the final month of last season.
