Iowa Cubs end their season in thrilling fashion
The Iowa Cubs saved the best for last.
In their last game of the season, the team rallied for a thrilling, 4-2 win over the Toledo Mud Hens. Jared Young, who was optioned to Iowa on Tuesday, hit a walk-off 2-run home run to seal the win.
Alexander Canario hit his 37th home run of the minor league season in the 9th to tie the game at 2, hitting an opposite field shot on a 3-0 count. Canario posted an .899 OPS across three levels and had a .386 on-base percentage and 6 home runs in 20 games for Iowa.

Top prospect Brennen Davis also homered, hitting his 4th home run of the Triple-A season in the 2nd inning, to cut the Cubs’ deficit to 2-1.

Caleb Kilian struck out 4 over 3 innings of work, allowing 1 earned run on 4 hits for the I-Cubs. Iowa finishes the season at 68-81.
