Jim Deshaies joined host Cole Wright on Cubs 360 Daily to shed some light on one of the newest Cub in Zach Davies. Deshaies gave him some high praise by comparing him to the Cubs’ ace in Kyle Hendricks.

“Zach Davies is Kyle Hendricks lite,” Deshaies said. “The one thing that kind of differentiated the two over the years in terms of style was Hendricks threw the change-up a lot more. Davies threw the curveball a little bit more, but Davies reversed that last year. He threw his change-up over 40 percent of the time, way more than any other starting pitcher in the league. His swing and miss rate went way up because of it. His strikeout rate was up.”

Davies comes to Chicago via the Yu Darvish trade to San Diego.
