Kyle Tucker headlines 6 Cubs on MLB Network’s Top 100 Players list
The Chicago Cubs 2025 roster is starting to make some noise as six players earned spots in the Top 100 Players Right Now countdown show on Wednesday by MLB Network. MLB Network created this list based on accolades and positional value, including players who returned from injury.
Recently acquired right fielder Kyle Tucker is in the Top 20, earning the 14th spot.
Five of his teammates joined him on the Top 100 list: Shota Imanaga (64th), Seiya Suzuki (73rd), Justin Steele (88th), Ian Happ (92nd) and Dansby Swanson (93rd).

Tucker joined the Cubs through a trade with the Houston Astros back in December of 2024. He hit .289 in 78 games in 2024 with 23 home runs and 49 RBI while putting up a .585 slug and .993 OPS.
Imanaga had a stellar rookie season with 15 wins and a 2.91 ERA that led to an All-Star nod and a spot on the Top 100 list. Steele’s consistency on the mound kept his ERA at 3.07 with 135 strikeouts in 134.2 innings last season.
Happ lived up to Cole Wright’s nickname for him as “The Quiet Storm,” posting a .243 average while setting career highs with 25 home runs and 86 RBI. Even in one of Swanson’s down years, he still managed to put up a 4.0 WAR with a .242 batting average, 16 home runs and 66 RBIs.
MLB Network will reveal their Top 10 players on Thursday, Feb. 13 at 7 p.m.
