Home runs by Kyle Schwarber and Steven Souza Jr. helped support Jon Lester’s strong outing as the virtual Cubs picked up a 4-0 win over the Diamondbacks in our 2020 season simulation on MLB The Show continued. The Cubs improved to 20-14 on the simulated season.

Lester improved to 3-2 on the season after pitching 7.2 shutout innings, allowing 8 hits and a walk and striking out 4.

Schwarber ripped a solo home run, his 10^th of the year in the 4^th to give the Cubs the lead. Kris Bryant added another run in the 5^th, when he grounded out to score Albert Almora Jr. Javy Báez added an RBI double later in the inning and Souza Jr. crushed a no-doubt solo home run in the 6^th to cap off the scoring for the Cubs.

Jeremy Jeffress picked up the final four outs in relief for the Cubs who wrap up their series against the Diamondbacks at 1 p.m. on Sunday on our Facebook page. Tyler Chatwood takes the bump for the Cubs in the series finale.
