Marquee Sports Network earns three Regional Emmy Awards

Jon Sciambi recognized for outstanding achievement for on-camera talent, plus recognition for ‘Road to Wrigley’ and ‘The Remarkable Life of Ron Santo’

CHICAGO – Marquee Sports Network this past weekend earned three Chicago/Midwest Regional Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Sports Play-by-Play, Outstanding Live Sports Program and Outstanding Sports Documentary. Since launching in February of 2020, the network has now received nine Chicago/Midwest Regional Emmy Awards, as well as 37 nominations.

Marquee Sports Network was honored with the following Awards:

  • Outstanding Achievement for Sports Single Program/Series – Live (Road to Wrigley)
  • Outstanding Achievement for Sports Documentary (The Remarkable Life of Ron Santo)
  • Outstanding Crafts Achievement for On-Camera Talent – Sports Analyst/Play-by-Play (Jon Sciambi)

Road to Wrigley – Outstanding Achievement for Sports Single Program/Series – Live

Road to Wrigley, presented by Prevagen, showcases all the night’s action from across the Cubs minor league system in a whiparound, Red Zone-style format, including live look-ins at the biggest at-bats and moments from the Cubs top prospects, as well as game highlights and analysis from Marquee analysts, including Lance Brozdowski, Elise Menaker, Jim Callis and more.

The Remarkable Life of Ron Santo – Outstanding Achievement for Sports Documentary

Narrated by Santo’s long-time radio broadcast partner Pat Hughes, The Remarkable Life of Ron Santo explores his family upbringing, battle with Type 1 diabetes, extraordinary playing days and memorable time in the broadcast booth. Including stories and insights from Santo’s family and former teammates, along with archival interviews with Santo, the film provides viewers with a unique glimpse into the legendary third baseman’s life.

Jon Sciambi – Outstanding Crafts Achievement for On-Camera Talent – Sports Analyst/Play-by-Play

Jon “Boog” Sciambi just completed his third season as the play-by-play announcer for the Chicago Cubs on Marquee Sports Network, joining the network on January 4, 2021. In addition to serving as the soundtrack for Cubs baseball, Sciambi also calls national MLB games for ESPN Radio, including serving as the lead voice for the World Series. Sciambi is on the Board of Directors for Project Main St., a charity dedicated to providing financial assistance to people living with ALS.
