Marquee Sports Network premieres ‘Cubs Cornerstones’

CHICAGO (June 15, 2022) – Marquee Sports Network tomorrow premieres a new docuseries highlighting some of the biggest names and personalities in Cubs franchise history. Cubs Cornerstones presented by the Road Home program at Rush showcases a different Cubs legend each month, highlighting the on-field and off-field moments that live on in the annals of Cubs history.

On the inaugural episode premiering Thursday, June 16 following Cubs Postgame Live!, Cubs Cornerstones features Shawon Dunston, the charismatic shortstop and team leader of the 1980s and 90s known for his rocket arm, highlight defensive plays and aggressive plate approach.

Following Dunston, the next three scheduled Cubs Cornerstones include Carlos Zambrano (premiering in July), Lou Piniella (August) and Pat Hughes (September), with future icons and legends to be announced.

Cubs Cornerstones is another avenue for us to share the storied history of Chicago Cubs baseball with our fans, highlighting fan-favorites and memorable personalities,” said Marquee Sports Network SVP Programming and Production, Mike Santini. “We look forward to continuing to share these stories throughout the year.”

Cubs Cornerstones is the newest addition to Marquee’s lineup of Cubs historical programming, including Marquee Sports Network Films featuring Ernie Banks, Harry Caray, Ferguson Jenkins and Billy Williams, plus Cubs Countdowns, Cubs Classics and Icons of the Ivy.
