Los Angeles Angels centerfielder Mike Trout is an eight-time all-star and three-time MVP, but that doesn’t mean the soon-to-be first time dad doesn’t need a little help with changing his first diaper. That’s exactly what Ryan Dempster did on his new show Off The Mound with Ryan Dempster, which premiered Friday at 5:30 p.m. on Marquee Sports Network.

Dempster went over the basics of hand placement, lift and diaper prep during the training session, while Trout displayed tremendous confidence, composure and impressive form in his first attempt. I guess those skills on the diamond do translate well to the changing table.

Trout and his wife Jess are expecting a baby boy in the near future, so Dempster (father of four) felt like it was his duty to provide a diaper changing tutorial when Trout joined him virtually as a guest on his new weekly series.

Dempster and Trout also discussed golf trick shots around the house, which board game gets uber competitive between Trout and his wife. The seven-time Silver Slugger winner also reflected on his rise to superstardom and shared what he learned from Albert Pujols, Torii Hunter, Vernon Wells and others that he is now trying to pass down to the future stars of the game.

Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo also joined the show to talk about some of the shows he’s been watching while stuck at home and share which Cubs teammate he’s missing the most during this unexpected break.
