2007 Cy Young Award winner CC Sabathia joined Off The Mound with Ryan Dempster to discuss his success in the American League and the 2008 trade that sent him from the Indians to the Brewers.

“As soon as I got there, Mike Maddox taught me how to throw a two-seamer, and it just changed my pitch count,” Sabathia said. “It was helping me pitch deeper into the game.”

The deal brought him to the NL Central where Sabathia faced the Cubs multiple times leading up to the postseason. He and Dempster discussed how they both didn’t want to get beat by each other in a few of those battles.
