2 years agoStaff Report

“Chicago Cubs baseball is on the air!”

Since joining the Cubs radio broadcast booth in 1996, Pat Hughes has been synonymous with Chicago Cubs baseball, calling some of the most memorable moments in franchise history, culminating in the 2016 World Series as he proudly announced, “The Chicago Cubs win the World Series!”

The legendary broadcaster was inducted last week in to the Chicago Cubs Hall of Fame, and this week his story is the focus of the newest episode of Cubs Cornerstones presented by the Road Home program at Rush, premiering Thursday at 6 PM CT. Each month, Cubs Cornerstones showcases a different Cubs legend, highlighting the on-field and off-field moments that live on in the annals of Cubs history.

On this episode, look back on some of the most memorable calls from Hughes’ career and learn more about his relationship with his broadcasting partners Ron Santo and Ron Coomer.

Cubs Cornerstones is the newest addition to Marquee’s lineup of Cubs historical programming, including Marquee Sports Network Films featuring Ernie Banks, Harry Caray, Ferguson Jenkins, Ron Santo and Billy Williams, plus Cubs Countdowns, Cubs Classics and Icons of the Ivy.
