Rachel Folden on feeling validation as technology in baseball continues to grow
Cubs lead hitting lab technician Rachel Folden joined Elisa Menaker on Cubs 360 Daily, presented by Miller Lite, to discuss her movement up the ladder as a coach.
“I cried. I absolutely cried [when I found out I got the job]…It was a lot of validation for a lot of hard work that I put into it…When you’re on the forefront of something, it often times very, very lonely, because a lot of people just don’t believe in what you’re doing.”
Folden also delved into the growing technology that’s being used in the sport of baseball.
“My job is to take the data that is spit out in a super complicated form, digest it and repackage it in a way that players can understand…We’re basically just looking for efficiency. How can we make your swing, which is already really good, work in its most efficient form?”
