What’s the biggest obstacle of getting back to baseball?

4 years agoStaff Report

Bruce Levine, Elise Menaker and Taylor McGregor joined Cole Wright on Cubs 360 to discuss what the biggest obstacle is to bringing baseball back.

McGregor is still wondering why all of this was not figured out when the owners and players made their initial deal back in March.

“Back on that March 26th agreement, they didn’t come to the conclusion that what would happen if they played without fans. I know it’s up to interpretation. The players say it was still going to be prorated salary. The owners say no. It was going to be up to a in good fath negotation. I just don’t understand why you didn’t use all of this time to negotiate that,” McGregor said.

Menaker compared this constant debate to a divorce and offered an analogical solution.

“What we need to talk about here is couples therapy,” Menaker said. “We need to sit down in the same room, talk this out and find a middle ground. Manfred said himself [on Monday] that they have not been in the same room discussing this for over a week. That’s the first step.”
