Which team could lose the most if the 2020 season is cancelled?
Bruce Levine, Elise Menaker and Taylor McGregor joined Cole Wright on Cubs 360 to debate an interesting topic: if the 2020 season is cancelled, which team will be hurt the most?
Menaker went down the South Side of Chicago.
“I think this was the year for [the White Sox]. A lot of fans were excited, because you had youth and experience coming together at the perfect time…You bring guys in like Dallas Keuchel, Yasmani Grandal, Edwin Encarnación…This was really the time for the White Sox,” Menaker said.
Levine believes that this was going to be a great season for the Cubs.
“I think they have a ton to lose, not only if there’s not a season this year, that translates into an offseason where you’re losing three-fifths of your starting rotation. Lester is a free agent. José Quintana is a free agent. Tyler Chatwood is a free agent. You have four of your top young players going to enter their walk year with Schwarber, Bryant, Rizzo and Báez.”
