With Adrian Sampson on the call, Cubs score 5 runs in 4th against Cardinals

2 years agoStaff Report

Adrian Sampson provided a good luck spark to the Cubs — and he did it all without taking the field.

Sampson joined Jon “Boog” Sciambi and Jim Deshaies during the top of the 4th inning of Sunday’s Cubs-Cardinals game. While on the call, The Cubs started the inning with 4 straight singles and had hits from 6 of their first 7 batters to rally from down 5-0 to tie it the game at 5.

During the interview, Sampson discussed his whirlwind 2022 season that has seen him start the season with the Cubs, get designated for assignment, picked up by the Mariners, dropped by them and then re-sign with the Cubs. He also talked about his time playing in the KBO in South Korea and his big-league career.

Catch the top of the 4th inning above.
