World Baseball Classic likely canceled
Bruce Levine, Len Kasper and Taylor McGregor joined host Cole Wright on Cubs 360 Daily, presented by Miller Lite, to discuss the potential cancellation of the 2021 World Baseball Classic.
A report from ESPN that says the 2021 World Baseball Classic could be canceled. Levine weighed the pros and cons about the World Baseball Classic.
“It’s a big negative for all the countries that love to compete against each other and brag that they’re the best one. It’s turned into a great tournament,” Levine stated. “On the other side, management will not be sad about this. Ownership will not be sad about this. Managers and coaches will not be sad about the fact that these guys will [not] be away from spring training.”
McGregor agrees with Levine and she believes that this decision was bound to be made.
“There’s so many questions happening that you can’t answer with the state of our world right now,” McGregor said. “You have no idea the way that this 2020 season will impact the 2021 season. So it’s not a priority and you get why the decision has been made.”
