Young Cubs fan stays up past bedtime to witness epic comeback win over rival Cardinals
The Chicago Cubs overcame a 6-1 deficit in the 9th inning to defeat the Cardinals, 7-6, in St. Louis.
The Cubs overcame a 6-1 deficit in the 9th inning to defeat the Cardinals 7-6 Tuesday night. The comeback victory sent one young Cubs fan who was allowed to stay up until almost 11 p.m. into a exuberant celebration.
For the Northsiders, It’s the second comeback win when trailing by 5 runs after 8 innings since April 29, 1979. It was the second comeback when trailing after 8 inning for the Cubs this season and the largest comeback win under manager David Ross.
