Yu Darvish garners spot on 2020 All-MLB team

3 years agoTony Andracki

Yu Darvish continues to receive accolades for his stellar 2020 campaign.

The Cubs ace was named to the All-MLB First Team starting rotation Wednesday. Each spot was determined by an MLB.com vote in November with fan vote counting for 50% and a panel of experts accounting for the other 50%.

Darvish joins a rotation of NL Cy Young winner Trevor Bauer, AL Cy Young winner Shane Bieber, Mets ace Jacob deGrom and Braves southpaw Max Fried.

Darvish went 8-3 with a 2.01 ERA and 0.96 WHIP in 2020, striking out 93 batters in 76 innings. He finished 2nd in NL Cy Young voting.

Kyle Hendricks and Jeremy Jeffress were the Cubs’ other two All-MLB nominees.

The All-MLB team concept was introduced in 2019. No Cubs made the inaugural First or Second team.
