2025 NFL Draft order: Updated look at where Bears stand after Week 17
A 10th straight loss last Thursday night may have been hard to watch for Bears fans, but it has led to a bit of a brighter future:
The Bears are guaranteed a Top 10 selection in the 2025 NFL Draft.
The San Francisco 49ers – who lost Monday night to the Detroit Lions – are 6-10 on the season, 2 games “ahead” of the 4-12 Bears in the standing for the 2025 NFL Draft Order.
So even if Thomas Brown, Caleb Williams and Co. pull off a big win Sunday afternoon at Lambeau Field, there is no shot they fall outside the Top 10.

Here is the current NFL Draft order after Week 17 (courtesy of Tankathon.com):
- New England Patriots (3-13)
- Tennessee Titans (3-13)
- Cleveland Browns (3-13)
- New York Giants (3-13)
- Jacksonville Jaguars (4-12)
- Carolina Panthers (4-12)
- New York Jets (4-12)
- Las Vegas Raiders (4-12)
- Chicago Bears (4-12)
- New Orleans Saints (5-11)
- San Francisco 49ers (6-10)
- Indianapolis Colts (7-9)
- Dallas Cowboys (7-9)
- Arizona Cardinals (7-9)
For the second straight week, we saw movement atop this list, as the Giants’ upset win over the Colts knocked Indy out of the playoff race and also knocked New York out of the top spot – all the way down to 4th.
That’s due to the strength of schedule, as the Giants’ .551 opposing winning percentage serves as the tiebreaker over the Patriots (.469), Titans (.513) and Browns (.540).
The Bears’ opponents have a .554 collective winning percentage this season, which explains why the Jaguars (.472), Panthers (.496), Jets (.502) and Raiders (.544) all have a higher pick despite the same record as Chicago.
The Bears’ final opponent – the Green Bay Packers – have a .688 winning percentage this season at 11-5 and that would only improve with a win in Week 18.
So it seems unlikely the Bears will be moving up beyond the No. 9 selection unless one of the teams they are tied with pull off a victory next weekend.

The Panthers play in Atlanta against a Falcons team desperately needing a win to try to win the NFC South. The Jaguars play the Colts in Indy in a game with zero impact on the standings as both teams are eliminated from the playoffs.
Meanwhile, the Raiders host the Chargers, though there isn’t much for L.A. to play for – they already clinched a playoff spot in Week 17 and the best they can do is move up to the No. 5 seed (they’re currently in the No. 6 spot) but either way, they’d be playing on the road to begin the playoffs.
