2 years agoStaff Report

The Bears were busy in the early parts of free agency, specifically from Philadelphia.

The Bears signed former Eagles safety Kevin Byard to a 2-year deal on Sunday. Byard, who was drafted by Tennessee in 2016, was dealt to Philadelphia last season. He has 28 career interceptions in 130 career games played.

On Monday, the Bears inked D’Andre Swift to a 3-year deal, per reports. Swift is coming off a career-high 1,049 yards rushing last season.

Smith was drafted by Detroit in 2020 before being traded to the Eagles ahead of the 2023 season. He joins a backfield in Chicago that rushed for the 2nd most yards in the league last season (2,399).

The Bears have Roschon Johnson and Khalil Herbert also under contract at running back.
