Bears injury report: Kyler Gordon, Jaquan Brisker ruled out vs. Commanders, Tyrique Stevenson gets better news

LAKE FOREST, Ill. — The Bears secondary dealt with injury issues during a Week 6 win over Jacksonville, and they’ve lingered beyond the bye and into Sunday’s clash with the Washington Commanders.
Safety Jaquan Brisker (concussion) will miss his second straight game. Slot cornerback Kyler Gordon will miss his first after injuring his hamstring versus the Jaguars.
Cornerback Tyrique Stevenson (calf) is available after being limited most of the week and will play. That’s a huge bonus for the Bears.

So is the fact that the Bears secondary is so deep. Elijah Hicks will step in for Brisker, as he did against the Jaguars. He performed well, as did Josh Blackwell in Gordon’s stead. He could play there, or Jaylon Jones could move into the slot. Terrell Smith, who is returning from a hip injury, is also an option.
Jayden Daniels practiced on Friday, per Commanders head coach Dan Quinn, who said the team really pushed the rookie quarterback during the session. The team will continue to evaluate him and his rib injury heading into Sunday, meaning Daniels’ playing status could be a game-time decision. Daniels responded to this course of action by saying, per the Washington Post, “I want to play, but it’s not my decision.”
