As practice wrapped up on Thursday, a reporter from the Cincinnati FOX outlet summarized how practice went for both sides and is all aboard the Caleb Williams Hype Train.

“I could not have been more impressed with how Caleb Williams looks,” Jeremy Rauch from FOX 19 said. “You look at his receiving core and you’re reminded of who they could be this year with Rome Odunze, the rookie, Keenan Allen and DJ Moore. Keenan Allen and DJ Moore gave the Bengals’ DBs trouble all day long.

“It doesn’t have to be an indictment on the Bengals defense or some kind of glowing statement about the Bears offense. It just, to me, looked like the Bears offense was better than the Bengals’ defense. The Bengals defense wasn’t able to slow them down with what they wanted to do.”

That’s certainly encouraging for Bears fans – especially to hear it from the opponent’s media contingent.

During their scrimmage, the Bears seemed to be in complete control at Halas Hall with the Bengals despite the poor weather conditions.

Ahead of Saturday’s game, Bears head coach Matt Eberflus said starters will play during their matchup against the Bengals.

Williams makes his second start of the preseason following his impressive debut against the Buffalo Bills last week, where the rookie QB completed 4-of-7 passes for 95 yards and had 1 rush attempts for 13 yards. Kickoff starts at 12 PM CDT on FOX.
