LAKE FOREST, Ill. — The Bears have a fairly clean injury report heading into Sunday’s regular season opener against the Tennessee Titans at noon CT on Sunday at Solider Field.
There was one player formally ruled out, and it wasn’t a huge surprise. Defensive tackle Zacch Pickens, who has been dealing with a groin injury for some time but is progressing.
Receiver Keenan Allen was designated as questionable with a heel injury that GM Ryan Poles called a “cleat issue” last week. Head coach Matt Eberflus said Friday that he wasn’t concerned about it and that Allen’s outlook was “great.” He was also asked if Allen’s injury needed to be managed in the short term, but the coach said that wasn’t something the training staff had mentioned.
Eberflus gave a similarly positive comment about defensive end Montez Sweat, who is questionable with a toe injury.

Defensive end Darrell Taylor was also questionable with a foot injury. Eberflus said he got stepped on Thursday and did not participate on Friday. The Bears will work him out Saturday and again Sunday and see where he’s at in terms of playing availability.
The team officially gave designations to the following players:

- DL Zacch Pickens
QUESTIONABLE
- WR Keenan Allen (heel)
- DE Darrell Taylor (foot)
- DE Montez Sweat (toe)
- DL DeMarcus Walker (groin)
On Tennessee’s side, the Titans ruled safety Jamal Adams out with a hip injury and designated DeAndre Hopkins as questionable with a knee issue.
