LAKE FOREST, Ill. — Teven Jenkins suffered an injury to his ribs that made the Bears worse at two spots. The star left guard didn’t come back against the Rams, which is already a downgrade. Then right guard Matt Pryor, a swing lineman moved into a starting spot based upon merit, moved into Jenkins’ spot on the left. That brought Nate Davis in at right guard, downgrades at two interior line spots.

Jenkins was given a questionable designation on the Bears formal injury report, which was released on Friday afternoon. He missed Wednesday’s practice and was limited on Thursday and Friday.

Receiver DeAndre Carter is also questionable with a ribs injury.
Head coach Matt Eberflus said that both players are progressing well and the Bears will re-evaluate them closer to kickoff.
The Bears ruled defensive tackle Zacch Pickens (groin) and defensive back Terrell Smith (hip) were formally ruled out of this game after not practicing all week. Both guys also missed a Week 4 win over the Rams.
Keenan Allen’s heel issue is apparently less of a problem than in weeks past, with him off the participation report and available against the Panthers.
