Bears to host joint practices vs. Dolphins, Bills at Halas Hall

3 weeks agoScott Bair

The Chicago Bears will host joint training camp practices with the Miami Dolphins and the Buffalo Bills, the first two opponents on their preseason schedule.

The team announced that information Thursday morning, though exact practice dates still are being determined.

Chicago’s preseason slate also was finalized, with the exhibition opener against the Dolphins set for noon CT on Aug. 10 at Soldier Field.

New head coach Ben Johnson’s first camp now has taken shape, highlighted by joint practices that are becoming commonplace around the league. The Bears held a workout against the Bengals last year, and intense work from the practices often are more beneficial than the games themselves.

It’s a chance to face different schemes and increase the level of competition, testing oneself in a less-controlled environment. The Bears will test their mettle against two quality teams with diverse talent, helping prepare them for an important regular season.

Now that it’s complete, here’s the full Bears preseason schedule:
Aug. 10: vs. Miami Dolphins, noon CT (FOX32)
Aug. 17: vs. Buffalo Bills, 7 p.m. CT (FOX)
Aug. 22: at Kansas City Chiefs, 7:20 p.m. CT (FOX 32)
