Matt Eberflus: Bears WR Rome Odunze to have MRI on injured knee

4 weeks agoScott Bair

LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Bears rookie receiver Rome Odunze is having an MRI on his knee, head coach Matt Eberflus said on Monday.

Eberflus said there was a level of concern regarding the injury, but didn’t go any further than that. The Bears head coach said Odunze’s knee issue was mentioned during Sunday’s 24-17 victory over the Tennessee Titans, but couldn’t pinpoint the play where an injury occurred.

“I don’t know exactly when it happened; I believe it was a blocking play,” Eberflus said. “That’s what they said that they had talked about. I did not see it on film at the exact play. We’ll see where he is.”

When asked to rate his level of concern, Eberflus said he’d rather wait for imaging before commenting further.

“We’ll see,” Eberflus said. “I don’t have enough information yet. We’ll see how it goes.”

Odunze had one 11-yard catch on four targets against the Titans, a contest where the passing game struggled to find rhythm. His first NFL catch was an odd play where he took possession off a deflection, got hit hard and fumbled, though the Bears ultimately recovered.

While it’s ultimately uncertain when Odunze got hurt, here’s video of his last two plays of the day. Make note of the second play in the thread:
