The Dodgers struck first in the 2025 MLB Tokyo Series with a 4-1 win Tuesday, but the Cubs will be out to even the score Wednesday.

Alex Cohen, Jim Deshaies and Taylor McGregor will be on the call from the Tokyo Dome as the Cubs give the ball to left-hander Justin Steele against Roki Sasaki, the Japanese rookie making his MLB debut for the Dodgers.

Steele, 29, was the Cubs’ Opening Day starter last year in Texas, but he had to come out of the game early with a hamstring injury. He wound up missing more than a month but still had a strong season.

The southpaw was 5-5 with a 3.07 ERA and 1.099 WHIP in 24 starts, striking out 135 batters in 134.2 innings. He was an All-Star in 2023 and finished fifth in NL Cy Young voting that year.

Sasaki, 23, is rated as the game’s No. 1 prospect by both MLB and Baseball America entering the season. He made just two appearances in spring training, striking out seven batters and not allowing a run in seven innings.

Sasaki went 10-5 with a 2.35 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 129 strikeouts in 111 innings last year in Japan.
