NFL mock draft 2025: Expert predictions on Bears’ first-round pick
A fresh set of NFL mock drafts is hot off the press with the 2025 NFL Draft in Green Bay just two weeks away.
The Bears’ upcoming first-round choice at No. 10 has been a hot topic. Do they continue to bolster the offensive line, as they have in free agency and through trades? Do they snag talented running back Ashton Jeanty if he’s still available? Or do they pull off a massive trade-up for one of the top talents in the class?
NFL analysts remain without a clear consensus on whom coach Ben Johnson and general manager Ryan Poles will take when they’re on the clock, and it shows in the latest mocks.

TE Tyler Warren, Penn State
2024 stats: 104 receptions for 1,233 yards with eight TDs
Analysis: “I can hear Bears fans now: “But we have Cole Kmet!!” I get it, but the value here for one of the top five players in this draft might be too much to pass up. Warren’s versatile skill set could really exercise the creativity of new head coach Ben Johnson. Penn State OC Andy Kotelnicki certainly had fun utilizing the talented tight end in unique ways last season.”

TE Colston Loveland, Michigan
2024 stats: 56 receptions for 582 yards with five TDs
Analysis: “Let’s keep juicing up that Bears offense. I was tempted to give the Bears another player on the trenches to work with (Will Campbell and Derrick Harmon were both considered), but instead go with Loveland. I profiled Loveland recently, he’s already a dynamic receiving threat and shows real chops to be a full-time in-line blocker. Loveland and Cole Kmet would create a fun tight end room in Chicago, help the run game on the edges, and give Caleb Williams and new head coach Ben Johnson another fun toy to work with in the passing game.”

EDGE Mike Green, Marshall
2024 stats: 81 tackles, 17 sacks, three forced fumbles, two passes defended
Analysis: “Chicago signed Dayo Odeyingbo in free agency but he could slide inside on passing downs and allow Mike Green and Montez Sweat to hunt off the corners. Beyond Carter, Green is probably the cleanest of the edge rusher prospects.”
Bryan DeArdo, CBS Sports
RB Ashton Jeanty, Boise State
2024 stats: 374 carries for 2,601 yards with 29 TDs
Analysis: “If the Raiders don’t select Jeanty at No. 6, it’s possible that the top-ranked RB prospect could fall to the Bears at No. 10. The thinking here is that Ben Johnson wants to mimic what he had in Detroit with David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs. If this happens, the Bears would have a nice 1-2 punch at RB with Jeanty and D’Andre Swift.”

*TRADE* to No. 2; Browns receive pick Nos. 10, 39, 148 and a 2026 first-round pick
EDGE Abdul Carter, Penn State
2024 stats: 68 tackles, 12 sacks, two forced fumbles, four passes defended
Analysis: “The Bears evidently believe their roster can win now and have been aggressive to maximize that opportunity. What’s more aggressive than jumping into the top three to grab the best pass rusher in the class? Dayo Odeyingbo is a solid veteran signing, but Carter’s 93.0 PFF pass-rush grade on true pass sets would raise Chicago’s defense into the upper echelon and is well worth the price needed to acquire him.”
