NFL schedule 2025: Bears, Packers to play Week 16 game at Soldier Field

The Chicago Bears will face their oldest (and most hated) rival late in the 2025 NFL season.

The league announced Monday that the Bears will host the Packers on Dec. 20, in a Week 16 matchup that could have a lot on the line. The Soldier Field matchup will be on FOX, as part of a doubleheader that also will feature the Philadelphia Eagles visiting Washington Commanders.

Bears-Packers will be played at either 3:30 p.m. CT or 6 p.m. CT.

The full 2025 NFL season schedule will be released Wednesday at 7 p.m.

New Bears coach Ben Johnson certainly is a prime-time attraction. His arrival after three seasons as coordinator of the Detroit Lions’ high-powered offense has fans and the franchise alike believing he’ll spark quarterback Caleb Williams and the Bears’ offense in much the same way. Savvy free-agent signings and a solid eight-player draft class did little to dampen that excitement.

The Bears also will play road games against the Packers, Eagles, Commanders, Detroit Lions, Minnesota Vikings, Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, San Francisco 49ers and Las Vegas Raiders next season. Also coming to Soldier Field will be the Lions, Vikings, Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers and New Orleans Saints.

The 2025 regular season is scheduled to end on Jan. 4, 2026, with the playoffs starting on Jan. 10. Super Bowl LX will be held Feb. 8 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.
