Panel reaction to the proposed MLB alignment
Ryan Dempster, Bruce Levine and Taylor McGregor joined Cole Wright on Cubs 360 Daily presented by Miller Lite to discuss the new alignment proposal of the MLB. This new alignment eliminates the American League and the National League and puts teams into three divisions: East, West and Central.
McGregor brought up an interesting point with eliminating the NL and the AL.
“I really like this one…it allows for a change in the scope of baseball. My biggest question though is will there be a designated hitter if you alleviate the leagues.”
Dempster delved into the classic crosstown rivalry between the Cubs and the White Sox.
“There’s always been that argument that ‘well, they only play six times a year. How much of a rivalry could it really be?’ Now you play them in the same division in the course of what could be a three or four month schedule, that is going to get people in Chicago really, really excited.”
